Tole Trays

I seem to have started a collection of green tole trays for my kitchen. Like all my other collections, this one snuck up on me. I found the first one at the Visiting Nurse's Rummage Sale,

and Cindy, from My Romantic Home was sweet enough to give me the second one.

The third one came from an antiques store. It is is quite an unusual shape -- long and rectangular. I have placed it behind the faucet on my sink.

The last one is green and gold -- perfect colors for my kitchen. It was $4. at an antiques mall in Lambertville, NJ. I found it all dusty and dirty, under a pile of other stuff. As soon as I saw the colors, I knew it had to come home with me. I love it with these silver sauce boats.

I just lost a beautiful tray on ebay Tuesday night to someone named Rhonda. Rhonda, was that you?! :(

  7. Love your tole trays, Mary! I have a thing for the black ones with floral design & have managed to collet 3 of them, 2 from yardsales. It takes awhile to find more, so I patiently wait. Your's look wonderful in their place in your house.

  15. Oh Mary I am in love with your toleware trays! This is my newest collection passion too. I have one sage green one and I just love it, but I desperatly want a red one and for the life of me can't seem to find it. It's my reason for each and every venture in to a thrift or antique shop. Nothing like the thrill of the hunt :)

  17. These are lovely, especially the green and white one. I rarely look at things on Ebay, and have never seen green trays before. Mostly, I see the black and the red ones.
You have a very nice way of displaying your things. I've enjoyed seeing them.
    Thank you.

  19. I love your trays!

I was minding my own business, at the thrift store, when a red tole ware tray found me. It was only $3. It is signed, but there are no other markings on it to indicate it's age.

  21. Mary,
Love the trays. I have always collected black ones and I have one dark blue I love. I had a red one and gave it away. Ever do that and then want to change your mind?
